Our Founders

Meet the founders of Charity Church, the Church that Christ Built.  Apostle Virges and Prophetess Brenda Pearson were called into the ministry in 1974.  They served faithful under the leadership of Apostle Hugh Carmichael.  It was there, they were ordained to Pastor Pearson and Prophetess Pearson.  In 1981 God spoke to them about their new assignment in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Because of their faith in God, they packed up their family and moved.

The next few years would prove to be a wilderness experience.  Although they were tested and tried, they remained faithful to God.  In 1984 God instructed them to begin Charity Church, the Church that Christ Built.  This ministry started as a house to house fellowship.  In 1987 they purchased some land, and it was paid off in full by December of the same year.  In 1990, they began building.  Within the next year they continued to increase their faith.  Apostle and Prophetess Pearson would get instructions from God and complete that stage, when the funds were low they would talk to God and he would fund the next phase.  This was a Pay as you Lay project.  In 1991, they had completed the first phase of Charity Church.  In the next 28 years they would raise up disciples that understood this was a Faith ministry and being Righteous was more important than being Right.

To know her is to know she loves God, her family and people.  Pastor McArthur truly believes that With God All things are possible and her life is an example of this.  She is known as a Faith Walker, and understands the power of truly Trusting in God and allowing Him to order your steps. She is a servant of God and has Agape love for all.
